COVID-19 cases rise above 800; 16th death recorded

One more person has passed away due to COVID-19 in North Dakota, bringing the statewide death toll to 16.

The patient was a man in his 90s from Cass County with underlying health conditions.

1,901 people were tested for the novel coronavirus yesterday, with 56 new positive cases confirmed, bringing the new statewide total to 803. The cases broken down by county are:

Barnes County – 1
Burleigh County – 6
Cass County – 40
Grand Forks County – 3
McKenzie County – 2
Pembina County – 1
Stutsman County – 1
Wells County -1

There have been a total number of 19,350 tests administered for COVID-19 in the state.

There are currently 17 people hospitalized. In all, 70 people have been hospitalized. There have been 310 recoveries.

Right now there are 477 active confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus in the state.

The North Dakota National Guard is assisting the state health department with another mass testing event today, this time in Fargo. Essential workers, especially those with symptoms, may be tested at the FargoDome.
