Schools Lost and Rebuilt

North Dakota State Water Commission

Today we continue our series Main Street, Minot: Ten Years After the Flood with a look at schools lost and rebuilt — to the tune of 76 million dollars.

In late June, school is often the last thing students and teachers want to think about. But ten years ago school was very much on the minds of administrators and teachers in the Souris River basin, as they watched the river swallow up building after building. Rachelle Lamoureux and Steven Kuske teach at Minot’s Erik Ramstead Middle School. They share their stories of losing their homes and their schools in the flood.
