Today, friends and family paid respects to the late Doug Hamilton, who hosted Main Street for nearly ten years. Hundreds gathered at the Hansen Theatre at Minnesota State University Moorhead to honor his life.
The veteran broadcaster and actor passed away on August 5, following his battle with a type of blood cancer called acute myeloid leukemia. Today he opens the show one last time.
Hamilton’s family said he would want any donations or memorial gifts to be made to local arts, public media organizations, artists and to African Soul, American Heart, a nonprofit founded by his beloved partner, Deb Dawson. His son Ben also asked that people consider donating bone marrow. You can find out more at bethematch.org.
