Tuesday, July 2, 2019 – The Artist in Residency Program is a partnership between the ND Parks & Recreation Department and the North Dakota Council on the Arts. Three artists are chosen to spend a week in a North Dakota State Park. The goal is to support North Dakota artists while providing opportunities for visitors of all ages to develop artistic skills. We visit with Amy Schimetz and Kim Konikow. ~~~ And speaking of the arts, Doug stopped by the Pekin Days Art Show to visit with Sarah Heitkamp, the executive director of the Nelson County Arts Council. ~~~ We learn about this summer’s “Ignite Learning Summit” from Darcy Bakkegard, teacher ambassador & professional development coach with Prairie Public’s education division.
