"Theodore Roosevelt, Naturalist in the Arena" ~ Rep. Rosa DeLauro on COVID-19 Legislation

Tuesday, March 24, 2020 – “Theodore Roosevelt, Naturalist in the Arena” is a new book inspired by a symposium of the same name that was held in Dickinson in 2017. Joining us to discuss the book is Clay Jenkinson, one of the editors. He’ll also tell us about a new film about Roosevelt and popular culture. ~~~ The Conversations on Healthcare podcast has been a welcome resource for us during the corona virus outbreak. Today we share another excerpt, as hosts Mark Masselli and Margaret Flinter speak with US Congresswoman Rosa DeLauro about the Families First and the Coronavirus Preparedness and Response Act, two bills passed in Congress to address the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic. Congresswoman DeLauro discusses the need for more resources for testing and for health systems support, the need for paid sick leave and family leave, the rise of telehealth to meet demand and the need for the public to heed the warnings to stay home through the worst of the crisis.
