There's been a significant development in the search for a missing pregnant woman in Fargo.
Police in Fargo have surrounded the apartment building where Savanna Lafontaine-Greywind was last seen, and they have removed a two day old infant. Fargo Police Chief Dave Todd released a statement that was streamed live on the Fargo Police Department Facebook Page:
"Yesterday, we were able to develop some information that led to a search warrant which was conducted today. When we conducted the search warrant at the suspect residence, we discovered an infant that appears to be a newborn infant. At this point in time, we are not able to confirm if this newborn infant is Savanna Greywind's child or not, and we do not have information that tells us where Savanna Greywind is."
Chief Todd says since Greywind was reported missing, all of the police department's resources have been put to work to solve the case.
"We've had 35 detectives, 4 sergeants, 2 lieutenants, and a deputy chief overseeing this investigation. We've also asked for assistance from outside agencies, and used 3 aircraft, watercraft, and K9s in trying to find Savanna Greywind."
Two people have been detained for questioning. This is a developing story.
