Bismarck, ND – Congressman Earl Pomeroy is going to China to discuss trade issues with officials from Asian nations.
Pomeroy will be part of a four-member delegation from Congress that will meet with officials from China, South Korea and Japan at the Asia Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Beijing. He says legislator-to-legislator they will talk about issues including economics, trade, and security. Pomeroy says he's going on this trip because he wants to drive the message to legislators in some of America's major livestock export markets that it's time for them to re-open their markets and the risk of Mad Cow disease in U-S beef is non-existent
Pomeroy will also meet with officials in Hong Kong about U-S agriculture products.
Pomeroy will be joined by congressmen Amo Houghton (HOH-tuhn) of New York-Philip English of Pennsylvania and Nick Smith of Michigan.
