Members of the North Dakota Public Service Commission have approved plans to expand natural gas service in the southeastern corner of the state… Commissioner Brain Kroshus says…

“MDU proposes to construct and operate approximately 21-miles of 12-inch plastic pipe from a tap on the Alliance Pipeline to Bobcat’s Gwinner, North Dakota facility. MDU expects to invest approximately $13.8-Million in the new facilities to serve Bobcat.”

The line expansion will also allow additional tie-in opportunities for Gwinner, Milnor and other customers in Ransom and Sargent Counties… Commissioner Julie Fedorchak says it took some creativity to make the plan work. She calls it a milestone for the region…

“…It’s been something that has been attempted to be resolved for many years. It’s been a high priority for the Gwinner area, it’s been high priority for state economic development officials, the Governor’s office has been pushing this, and we’ve had multiple discussions with Gwinner and Bobcat trying to figure out how to make this happen.”

Fedorchak says as part of the plan, Bobcat has agreed to a 15-year commitment to the natural gas service.
