The North Dakota Racing Commission has finalized race dates for the North Dakota Horse Park this summer.
Manager Mike Schmitz says the last three weekends in July were chosen - Saturday July 14 and Sunday the 15th, Saturday the 21st and Sunday the 22nd, and Friday July 27th and Saturday July 28th. Schmitz says the final weekend was chosen to be Friday-Saturday versus Saturday-Sunday to accommodate the Fargo Air Show. Schmitz says it's an affordable family summer activity.
"It's very family friendly - we think it's some of the best value for entertainment in town. It's just five bucks to get in, and kids are free. You can expect ten or more races a day with about a half an hour between each individual race. The cool thing about racing is that you can come for several hours and then if you leave, it's not like you're leaving in the middle of a hockey game or something like that. There's lots of fun, and play areas for kids, great racing action, and food and drink. Every day we have a different theme, whether it be Kids Day or Ladies Day."
The North Dakota Horse Park is located in north Fargo.
