NPR's Tiny Desk Concert ~ Young Entrepreneurs ~ Gold Medal for "Samson's Gift" ~ Brine Spills

Ashley Thornberg visits with Diane Mills and Tom Johnson, two musicians hoping to land a spot in NPR’s “Tiny Desk” concert series, a feature of All Songs Considered with host Bob Boilen, which stages musical performances in his small office. ~~~ From this week’s Million Cups event in Fargo, we hear from entrepreneurs Zak Fick of Help University, and James Burgum of Arthur Ventures. ~~~ Artist Ellen Jean Diederich’s book “Samson’s Gift” has won a gold medal Illumination Book Award. The awards recognize books in the Christian branch of publishing. “Samson’s Gift” is the illustrated story of a lamb who gives his wool for the comfort of the baby Jesus. We replay our visit with Ellen from last November. ~~~ Inside Energy reporter Emily Guerin takes a closer look at the problem of brine spills. ~~~ Chuck Lura of Dakota College in Bottineau shares a Natural North Dakota essay about a back yard mystery.
