Rural Leadership North Dakota is looking for participants for its 7th class, which begins in November. Here to discuss this highly-regarded development program is Marie Hvidsten, program director, and past participant Mara Solberg of Solberg Farms of Horace where they raise sheep and chickens, selling locally. ~~~ U.S. livestock produce a lot of milk, a lot of meat, and a lot of manure. But some little-known insects can put that manure to good

use. Jacob Grace of Harvest Public Media tells us about the dung beetle. ~~~The classic American farmer riding a tractor, wearing overalls and rising at dawn to tend to the animals and crops is still alive and well—with one major difference. Today, that hard-working farmer may very well be a woman.
