Sandpiper Pipeline Documentary ~ Coal Country on Carbon Cuts ~ TEDxFargo: Anne Blackhurst

Today we share a documentary from KFAI in Minneapolis, a community volunteer radio station. It’s called “Sandpiper, How Grassroots Efforts in the North Woods are Taking on an Oil Company Giant.” It looks at the fight to re-route the Sandpiper pipeline that would run from the oil fields in North Dakota to Superior, Wisconsin. ~~~ While oil continues strong, there’s more uncertainty when it comes to coal, largely due to new regulations for carbon emissions from power plants. Even so, as Wyoming Public Radio’s Stephanie Joyce reports for Inside Energy, Gillette, the heart of Wyoming coal country, isn’t giving up on its black gold anytime soon. ~~~ MSUM president Anne Blackhurst’s presentation at TEDxFargo. Her talk is titled “Potential.”
