Norwegian Perspective on US-Dakota War ~ Tom Gjelten: "A Nation of Nations"

A riveting narrative of the US-Dakota War in Norwegian has now been translated into English. “The War with the Sioux, Norwegians Against Indians 1862-1863,” drew upon the diaries, letters and newspapers of Norwegian immigrants. It was written by Karl Jakob Skarstein of Bergen Norway.
