Law Enforcement Training Academy ~~~ PBS Kids Writers Contest ~~~ Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King

Monday, January 18 – Lt. Dan Haugen of the North Dakota Highway Patrol is the director of the state’s Law Enforcement Training Academy. He joins us to explain the training officers undergo, and how that training has evolved, and continues to change – especially in light of national events that raise concerns about the use of force, and conversely, the dangers faced by officers. ~~~ The PBS Kids Writers Contest is getting underway. Here to tell us about it is Tim Wollenzien, Prairie Public’s education services manager. ~~~ We honor Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. today with an archival interview with Camilla Wilson, a retired journalist who was in Memphis the day he was assassinated.
