The END-WET Swimming Marathon ~ News Chat ~ Movie Reviews: "X-Men" and "A Bigger Splash"

The Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test (END-WET) is a 36-mile-long ultra-marathon where solo or relay swimmers travel from rural ND into East Grand Forks in the Red River.  It’s the longest swim race in North America. Here to tell us about it, and about the need for volunteers, is Alison Kelly of Extreme North Dakota Racing. ~~~ We have a feature from tonight’s Prairie Public TV show on labor strife in Minneapolis involving streetcar workers in 1917.  We hear from Dr. Michael Lansing, associate professor of history at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, and Dr. Richard Valelly, professor of political science at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. ~~~ News director Dave Thompson is here with this week’s news chat. ~~~ Matt Olien reviews the new X-Men film and “A Bigger Splash.”
