UND Professor Mark Trahant on the Pipeline Protest ~ Author Mike Thompson ~ Chef Rosey on Bison

Mark Trahant is an independent journalist and the  Charles R. Johnson Endowed Professor of Journalism at UND. He’s also a member of Idaho's Shoshone-Bannock Tribe, and he reports and comments on events and trends in Indian Country on his blog at TrahantReports.com. He also does a weekly audio commentary for Native Voice One. He has covered the events from inside the Dakota Access Pipeline protest and joins us with some observations. ~~~ Author Mike Thompson, who grew up in Bismarck, returns to discuss his latest western yarn, “The Turbulent Trail.” It’s an old-west odyssey that takes the reader from an escape at the Yuma Territorial Prison to a cattle drive in the Dakotas. ~~~ Project Unpack seeks to preserve the stories of veterans and their families. Today we hear an excerpt from a recording with Marine Corps veteran Keith Stifter.  Chef Tim Rosendahl of Rosey’s Bistro is here with this week’s food topic, Bison. ~~~ Doug is joined by outreach director Christine McClellan for our What’s Happening calendar of events.
