Fly Girls ~ Miss International ~ The Tell

Monday, October 28, 2019 – Meet Keith O’Brien, author of “Fly Girls, How Five Daring Women Defied All Odds and Made Aviation History.” Among the women profiled is Florence Klingensmith, who grew up in Clay County. O’Brien is in town as part of the One Book, One Community reading project, which is featuring “Fly Girls.” ~~~ Ava Hill is a North Dakota native and “Miss International.” She is also an international ambassador for the Peyton Heart Project, which works to end bullying and suicide. October is National Bullying Prevention Month. ~~~ Telling stories is one of our oldest pasttimes. Holidays, drinks with friends, funerals...we come together over shared stories. The Moth is a radio show made from live storytelling events. The live show is making its North Dakota debut on November 14 at the Fargo Theatre. We visit with storytelling enthusiast Krissy Skajewski, who hosts The Tell, a monthly event inspired by The Moth.
