Soil Health Conference ~ Commemorating Women's Suffrage ~ Purple: Project for Democracy

Monday, November 4, 2019 – DIRT stands for Dakota Innovation Research and Technology, but ultimately, it is about dirt. Modeled after the NDSU Café Talk program, it’s a workshop designed to present practical, science-based information for farmers, educators, researchers and anyone else interested in soil health. Here to discuss the event and the “growing” interest in soil health is Abbey Wick of NDSU Extension. ~~~ Emily Kulzer of the Historical Society of Clay County joins Prairie Pulse Host John Harris to talk about the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage. ~~~ As part of an effort to increase women’s representation in elected office, the North Dakota Women’s Network is offering a one-day training on North Dakota’s political system and advice on running a campaign. Joining us are organizers Kristie Wolff, Carma Hanson, and Angela Urlacher. ~~~ Purple: Project for Democracy is a movement toward mindful patriotism, working to educate people about how democracy works in the midst of a hyper-partisan national conversation.
