Wednesday, July 15, 2020 - Cars, online shopping, grocery delivery….it can be easy to spend a whole day without even going outside. That’s alarming to naturalist and author Gary Ferguson and cultural psychologist Dr. Mary Clare. The couple joins Sarah Aronson, producer and host of The Write question to discuss Gary's book, The 8 Master Lessons of Nature along with their work with Full Ecology. ~~~ Some major environmental problems in the U.S. stem from using vast tracts of land to grow agricultural crops. But, as NPR’s Dan Charles reports, farmers are often limited to reduce that damage because they don't own the land. ~~~ Patrick Mathews-Halmrast is an artist, composer and entrepreneur who is interning at Prairie Public this summer to complete an undergraduate degree in communications. He’s also composing a sound piece. Patrick talks about his process and what inspires his work.
