Tuesday, March 12, 2019 – The Hunger Free North Dakota Coalition is celebrating 10 years of helping people. Karen Ehrens and Lori Capouch join us to discuss the group’s various efforts, including the Rural Grocer Initiative, which seeks to address the continuing loss of rural grocery stores. There’s been a 15% drop in just 5 years. ~~~ The National Book Awards at Concordia College in Moorhead takes place this Thursday and Friday. Today we visit with Victoria Johnson, non-fiction finalist for "American Eden: David Hosack, Botany and Medicine in the Garden of the Early Republic." She’ll be one of the featured guests during The Reading and Conversation with the Authors event on Thursday. Johnson is an associate professor of urban policy and planning at Hunter College in NYC.
