Wednesday, January 22, 2020 – Access to health care, especially specialized health care, can be tough in rural areas. The North Dakota Association for the Disabled is launching the Autism Spectrum Assistance Program (ASAP) to help cover the costs of traveling long distances for medical care. We hear from Kim Zeeb, an NDAD client services representative and Mike Brue, NDAD communications director. ~~~ Mark Trahant shares an essay on the census, and its importance for Indian Country. ~~~ Chuck Lura shares a Natural North Dakota essay on red squirrels. ~~~ On Monday, PBS begins airing the Antique Roadshow episodes filmed at Bonanzaville in West Fargo. Ashley Thornberg visits with folk art appraiser Ken Farmer in a conversation recorded during the Bonanzaville event. Excerpts of that conversation will be part of a behind-the-scenes television documentary Prairie Public will air on February 10th.
