Salted Lands ~ Drone Racing ~ Comedian Tom Papa

Tuesday, March 5, 2019 – Fintan Dooley is a land and mineral rights attorney. He’s also a member of the Salted Lands Council. He joins us to discuss “Salted Land and Water Day,” which is this Friday at the Capitol in Bismarck. Salted lands refers to land damaged by brine ponds and spills that can occur in conjunction with oil and gas development. ~~~ Commentary from Mark Trahant about coal, its relationship with native tribes, and public policy. ~~~ Drone racing is coming to UND, and it’s expected to attract the best drone pilots in the nation. Here to discuss the event, and UND’s UAS facilities, are Paul Snyder, UND Aerospace Sciences, and senior Jordan Krueger, president of the UND UAS/RC Club. ~~~ Comedian Tom Papa has had quite an interesting career that includes standup, movie roles, TV and radio. He’s the head writer and a regular performer on NPR’s “Live From Here,” which airs Saturdays at 5 Central on Prairie Public. He’s also been a guest panelist on “Wait Wait Don’t Tell Me.” He’ll be making two stops in North Dakota this week, and he joins us with a preview.
