United Way Expands Services in Burleigh County ~ Golden Globes Recap ~ Documentary About Soil Health

Monday, January 6, 2020 – The United Way in Bismarck is starting 2020 out expanding its reach with the area’s first 24-hour emergency shelter. Executive Director Jena Gullo joined our Dave Thompson to share how community support made it happen. ~~~ 1917 was a big winner at last night’s Golden Globes, even though it’s not going to be widely available in theatres until the end of the week. Movie Critic Matt Olien stops by to share his thoughts on this. ~~~ “Dreaming of a Vetter World” is a documentary about Nebraska farmer David Vetter from Filmmaker Bonnie Hawthorne. Her film tells how David and his father Donald Vetter, disappointed with the results of chemical agriculture, developed an organic management system that allows them to farm in harmony with nature. They now consider the soil their most important crop. The film is showing in Aberdeen and Fargo, as a lead-up to the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture convention in Fargo.
