Warren Sturlaugson "Dear Coronavirus"

Larry Woiwode (North Dakota's Poet Laureate) says :  "Warren Sturlaugson's poetry is direct, uncluttered, infused with dimensional faith, and a full-bodied sense of humor and genial wit, along with graphic representations of North Dakotans' views on weather, the surrounding atmosphere and Dakotans' general state of mind".  Warren is the author of two poetry collections, "Braiding Frayed Air" and "The Brightening Atmosphere", available at Amazon.com.

Dear Coronavirus

Dear Coronavirus,
You have been trying to catch me since Monday,
and I've been avoiding you like the plague.
Well, I don't mean to be snotty,
But you are a bit of a headache,
and sometimes you give me the chills.
Although our relationship was nothing to sneeze at,
I'm a little sore at the moment,
And I fear, that as soon as I stop fighting you,
You will try to rub my nose in it.
So don't try to come running back,
I don't need another strain in our relationship.
I wash my hands of the whole affair.
