Mott aims to break the world record for the largest simultaneous fireworks display this New Year's Eve.

Mega fireworks will shatter the night sky this New Year's Eve in Mott as locals attempt to bring the small town a world record for the biggest fireworks to ever be launched simultaneously.

In addition to a 13-minute fireworks display scheduled for 10 p.m., there will be food and beverages catered locally, blackjack, a live band, and a “kid zone” with movies and face painting.

There will also be a live auction with a particularly big ticket item — the ability to hit the launch button — meaning the highest bidder will be the one to execute the world record.

The entire event will take place from 3 p.m. to around 12:30 a.m.

Proceeds will benefit Great Plains Food Bank.
