FFA Members get logo on license plates

By Dave Thompson

Bismarck, ND – The F-F-A is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

And the North Dakota House has voted to allow F-F-A members to put their decal on car license plates.

Opponents said the Legislature has allowed military decals and the firefighters' logos on the plates, but that's it. And Rep. Wes Belter (R-Leonard) said he worries about opening this up to all sorts of groups.

"If we're going to open the door here, and this is certainly a wonderful organization, and there's lots of wonderful organizations that all contribute to the well-being of North Dakota. But somewhere along the line, we have to say no."

The vote was 54 to 36. Unless it is reconsidered, the measure now moves to the Senate.
