The North Dakota Library Coordinating Council and the North Dakota State Library have launched a Military Family Contact program.

Wilbur Stolt is the Director of Chester Fritz Library at the University of North Dakota and the President of the Library Council. Stolt said 38 libraries in the state have received new computers with video contact ability.

“The designated computer for family connections shall be available at all times the participating libraries are open,” Stolt said. “This is important for family members who work during the day, and also as if you may recall time zones around the world are quite flexible and we want to make sure our libraries serve our population as broadly as possible.”

Stolt said the contact program can be used by any family or individual who has a loved one stationed out of state in the military.
