Two people are dead and one person injured after shots were fired inside the Walmart in Grand Forks early this morning.
"At about 1:04 this morning, officers were dispatched to the Walmart for reports of gunshots inside the store," said Grand Forks Police Lt. Derik Zimmel. He says officers are still on-scene – and several areas of the store remain off-limits to the public while the investigation continues.
"Once we release the scene and make wherever we're investigating available to the public, we're done," said Zimmel. "We want to insure whatever areas we have cordoned off are completely finished before being released for public access."
Zimmel says names are not being released until relatives are notified. A statement from the Grand Forks Air Force base says one of the people involved is an airman – but that statement offered no other detail.
