New flights from Williston Basin International Airport

A new carrier will be providing non-stop air service between Williston and Las Vegas.

Beginning September 2nd, Sun Country Airlines will provide twice weekly service to Las Vegas.

"Now that we have a new facility that can accommodate the larger aircraft that leisure carriers typically fly, we've had an opportunity to work with a few air carriers," said Williston airport manager Anthony Dudas.

Dudas said the city worked with consultants, who told them there is a demand for flights to Las Vegas.

In addition, Delta Airlines has resumed daily service between Williston and Minneapolis-St. Paul. That service was suspended last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dudas said United had been operating twice-daily flights to Denver, even during COVID-19.

"They are setting records on how full those two aircraft are every day," Dudas said.

Dudas said United will be adding a third flight to Denver July first.

Dudas said passenger boarding numbers are getting back to where they were pre-COVID. And he said with more offerings, he expects some growth.
