Farmland Transition ~ Travel and Climate Change ~ Postcards from the Prairie ~ Author Raymond Strom

Monday, December 16, 2019 – Mary Swander is the former Poet Laureate of Iowa and the author of “Map of my Kingdom” a commissioned play about the critical issue of farmland transition. The play will be performed during January’s conference of the Northern Plains Sustainable Agriculture convention in Fargo. Mary joins us to discuss the play and also a workshop she’ll be hosting that dives more deeply into land transition issues. ~~~ Commentator Mark Trahant, editor of Indian Country Today, shares an essay on travel and its impacts on climate change.  ~~~  We share a Christmas essay from Eliza Blue's series, Postcards from the Prairie. ~~~ Also today, we’re looking back on 2019, revisiting a conversation with Raymond Strom The Minnesota native has moved around the Dakotas lived in Williston in Minot for a little while and Wisconsin. He’s now in New York City where he works as an academic advisor at the City College of New York. He joined Doug Hamilton back in February 2019.
