Audubon's Conservation Ranching ~ Bird Longevity ~ Sue Balcom's Earth Day Tips

Thursday, April 22, 2021 - Did you know that North Dakota has more cows than people? Ranching is a big part of the state’s economy, and some of the ranchers participate in Audubon’s Conservation Ranching Initiative, which takes a pioneering approach to conserving grassland habitat for birds. That initiative took a big step forward recently when Audubon announced a partnership with Panorama Organic Grass-Fed Meats, which will double the program’s acreage. To learn more on this Earth Day, we visit with Marshall Johnson, national vice president for the Audubon Conservation Ranching program. ~~~ Speaking of birds, Chuck Lura joins us to talk about bird longevity in another installment of Natural North Dakota. ~~~ In this week's Main Street Eats, Sue Balcom has Earth Day tips on how to make a difference with your food choices.
