5/22/2010:
After the 1893 fire knocked out so many businesses across the face of the city of Fargo, the city rebuilt itself into a booming metropolis. It took time, but the efforts of the Fargo Commercial Club, incorporated in 1902 and a forerunner to today's Chamber of Commerce, helped to bring in businesses.
And on this date in 1913, it was reported that the organization had brought in a new industry: the Fargo Corset factory.
Plans weren't complete, but Frank Leach of the Dixon laundry would run the company, which was set to employ several hands and produce "none but the best grade of corsets."
It was perhaps unusual for the area, but it certainly provided a good fit...and an even better silhouette.
