Tuesday, November 6 – One of the entries in the 2018 North Dakota Human Rights Film & Arts Festival is “Dodging Bullets.” It’s a documentary on historical trauma produced by a group of Native and non-Native filmmakers that explores how the trauma of colonization remains deeply embedded in Native communities. Joining us is co-director Bob Trench. ~~~ We’ll also hear about another festival selection, “Home, The Homeless Crisis in North Dakota.” Co-directors Sean Coffman and Sonya Jensen join us. Sean is also the executive director for “The Human Family,” which is putting on the festival. They’re also inviting submissions for another arts festival coming up in January. ~~~ Hal Brands, professor of global affairs at the Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies, is speaking today at UND on “American Grand Strategy in an Age of Upheaval.” He joins us with a preview.
