Fong leaving Tax Commissioner post

Tax Commissioner Cory Fong has submitted a letter of resignation to Governor Dalrymple.

Fong will be leaving his post as Tax Commissioner December 31, 2013.  He has served North Dakota as Tax Commissioner for the past eight years - he was appointed to the post by then-Governor John Hoeven in 2005, was elected in 2006 and then re-elected in 2010.

Fong is resigning as Tax Commissioner to join Odney and help lead their public affairs division.  Odney offers marketing, advertising, public relations and government relations services among several other services.  Fong says he will specialize in business consulting and public and government affairs to assist North Dakota businesses and industries.  He says he has enjoyed serving as Tax Commissioner, and wishes to set new goals outside of government aimed at "building and growing North Dakota."
