672 COVID-19 cases confirmed, nine more related deaths

The death toll has risen to 1,861.

The state health department has confirmed nine more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 1,861.

Deaths are reported to the state health department by facilities or by official death record, and can take up to ten days to be confirmed.

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 672 individuals from 49 counties have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the new statewide positive total to 159,373.

These results were from a pool of 8,224 tests for a daily positive rate of 8.78 percent.

210 of those positives were PCR tests, and 462 were antigen tests.

2,837,113 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 542,268 unique individuals have been tested.

160 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Since yesterday 499 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 154,475. This leaves 3,037 active confirmed cases.
