Missing Beulah teen located

Beulah Police Chief Frank Senn says the search for 18-year old Tyler Schaeffer has been ended. He says the body of the high school Senior was found Wednesday evening along the Knife River…

“…I received a phone call from somebody saying there was some weird stuff in the water and wanted up to check it out. So, I dispatched a patrol officer and myself and we were able to determine it was Tyler.”

Senn says Schaeffer’s body was found in the Riverside Park area in Beulah – about 900-hundred yards from a railroad bridge where Schaffer may have been seen 12-days ago. He says the news of Schaeffer’s death is being felt through-out the community…

“…Our town was all-in. There were a lot of people that wanted to see a much better outcome. But we’ve been able to return Tyler to Beulah and to his family and now our community will have to heal and hopefully come together and learn to prevent other tragedies like this from occurring.”

Senn says Schaffer’s body has been turned over to the stats medical examiner’s office to determine a cause of death. He says at this point there are no indications of foul play.
