A woman who went missing from a family campground at the Grand Forks Air Force Base earlier this week has been found safe.
18 year old Hailey R. Sullivan was found this afternoon (Wednesday) at about 3pm near Gilby, North Dakota. She was reunited with her family after a precautionary medical examination.
GFAFB Spokesperson Lea Greene said authorities had conducted a base-wide grid search looking for Hailey in the hours after she had gone missing. She had left sometime between Monday evening and early Tuesday morning.
"This reunion would not have been possible without the hard work and coordination efforts between our base security forces, Grand Forks County Sheriff's Office, US Customs and Border Protection, the Grand Forks Police Department's Unmanned Aerial Systems unit, Emerado Police Department, military members with their families and Altru," said Colonel Jeremy Fields, 319 Reconnaissance Wing Vice Commander.
"We are especially thankful for the public vigilance which assisted in locating Hailey. Good neighbors once again proved this is a wonderful community to be a part of."
