5/23/2010:
Generally, the arrival of a baby warrants some sort of celebration, such as the father handing out a cigar.
On this date in 1915, Harold and Susan Sunderland of Milton had a big reason to celebrate after the birth of their daughter, Kathleen Mary, who topped the scales at twelve pounds!
Kathleen Mary Sunderland was the latest in a long stream of children born to the family, and so, when reporting on the new birth, the Milton Globe noted that Harold, who was an oil agent, might have a different way of celebrating. With a new mouth in a large family, "it is not known whether Harold will raise or lower the price of gasoline as a result of the event."
