As the population of North Dakota increases, different types of businesses seem to be opening.
The Scarlet Gypsy is a traveling boutique in Bismarck run through a refurbished shuttle bus. Therissa Heit is the owner of the boutique; she said the boutique offers clothing, purses, shoes, and other accessories.
“They’re (mobile retailers) doing it all over the west coast, like in California. There is actually a mobile retail association now that is started because it is growing so much,” Heit said. “There are not a lot in the Midwest yet but it’s growing.”
The boutique opened about a month ago. Heit said so far business is going well.
“I’m going to stay in North Dakota for sure, just because I think we need this sort of retail here. And I think it would be fun to bring this to my home state,” Heit said.
Heit says she is based in Bismarck but will be traveling to major events across the state.
