COVID-19 intensifying; six more deaths, 812 new cases confirmed

Today's test positivity rate is 7.75 percent.

The state health department has confirmed six more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 1,629.

Deaths are reported to the state health department by facilities or by official death record, and can take up to ten days to be confirmed.

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 812 individuals from 45 counties have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the new statewide positive total to 135,728.

These results were from a pool of 11,107 tests for a daily positive rate of 7.75 percent.

363 of those positives were PCR tests, and 449 were antigen tests.

2,489,054 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 509,531 unique individuals have been tested.

172 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Since yesterday 572 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 129,720. This leaves 4,379 active confirmed cases.
