State confirms nine deaths, 2,443 new cases of COVID-19

Today's test positivity rate is 17.86 percent.

The state health department has confirmed nine more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 2,078.

Deaths are reported to the state health department by facilities or by official death record, and can take up to ten days to be confirmed.

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 2,443 individuals from 50 counties have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the new statewide positive total to 214,459.

These results were from a pool of 15,550 tests for a daily positive rate of 17.86 percent.

743 of those positives were PCR tests, and 1,702 were antigen tests.

3,319,143 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 596,250 unique individuals have been tested.

173 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

Since yesterday 2,441 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 204,691. This leaves 7,690 active confirmed cases.
