The state health department has confirmed five more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 2,223.
Deaths are reported to the state health department by facilities or by official death record, and can take up to ten days to be confirmed.
According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 96 individuals from 20 counties have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the new statewide positive total to 239,043.
These results were from a pool of 3,777 tests for a daily positive rate of 2.87 percent.
55 of those positives were PCR tests, and 41 were antigen tests.
3,576,804 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 616,867 unique individuals have been tested.
55 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.
Since yesterday 72 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 236,401. This leaves 419 active confirmed cases.
