178 new COVID-19 cases, 2 deaths; sharp increase in hospitalizations

The state health department has confirmed two more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 1,484.

 

The patients were a man in his 80s from Cass County, and a man in his 60s from Dickey County.

 

Deaths are reported to the state health department by facilities or by official death record, and can take up to ten days to be confirmed. 

 

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 178 new individuals from 29 counties have tested positive for COVID-19 in North Dakota, bringing the new statewide positive total to 106,218.

 

These results were from a pool of 5,845 tests for a daily positive rate of 4.06 percent.

 

90 of those positives were PCR tests, and 88 were antigen tests.

 

The cases broken down by county are:

 

 

 

1,885,936 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 426,489 unique individuals have been tested.

 

49 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19.

 

Since yesterday 107 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 103,610. This leaves 1,124 active confirmed cases.
