With 18 new deaths, COVID-19 death toll surpasses 1,000

The state health department has confirmed eighteen more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 1,007.

The patients were:

* Man in his 40s from Benson County.
* Woman in her 90s from Cass County.
* Man in his 50s from Cass County.
* Man in his 70s from Eddy County.
* Woman in her 70s from Kidder County.
* Woman in her 80s from LaMoure County.
* Woman in her 60s from McLean County.
* Man in his 90s from Mercer County.
* Man in his 90s from Morton County.
* Man in his 80s from Pembina County.
* Man in his 80s from Ramsey County.
* Woman in her 70s from Sioux County.
* Man in his 50s from Sioux County.
* Woman in her 90s from Stutsman County.
* Man in his 90s from Traill County.
* Woman in her 90s from Ward County.
* Woman in her 80s from Ward County.
* Woman in her 90s from Ward County.

558 new individuals from 46 counties have also tested positive for COVID-19 in North Dakota, bringing the new statewide positive total to 82,504.

These results were from a pool of 9,159 tests for a daily positive rate of 6.7 percent.

1,184,610 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 356,518 unique individuals have been tested.

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 298 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19. There have been 2,868 hospitalizations total. The dashboard lists 13.16 percent of staffed hospital beds available statewide.

Since yesterday 761 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 76,476. This leaves 5,021 active confirmed cases.
