2 more COVID-19 deaths; record 134 new positives found

Two additional North Dakotans have passed away with COVID-19, while 134 new individuals have tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

The patients who died were both men from Cass County with underlying health conditions. One was in his 70s, the other was in his 90s. The statewide death toll is now 51.

Of the 134 new positives, 93 were from Cass County alone. 24 were from Ward County, 6 were from Burleigh County, and 4 were from Emmons County. Bottineau, Grand Forks, Morton, Pierce, Ramsey and Richland Counties each reported one new case. The new positive total is 2,229.

A record number of 2,757 tests were completed yesterday, for a daily positive rate of 4.9 percent.

39 people are currently hospitalized with COVID-19, while 144 people have been hospitalized overall since the pandemic began.

There have been 1,340 recoveries. This leaves 838 currently active cases in the state.
