5 COVID-19 deaths, 40 new cases

Five more North Dakotans have passed away with COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 71.

The patients include a man in his 90s, a man in his 80s, a woman in her 80s and a woman in her 70s all from Cass County. They all had underlying health conditions. A man in his 60s from Grand Forks County also passed away.

Additionally, 40 new individuals tested positive for the novel coronavirus out of a pool of 2,624 tests for a positive rate of 1.5 percent.

32 of the cases were from Cass County. Burleigh and Ward Counties each had two new cases, while Mercer, Richland, Sioux and Stutsman Counties all had one new case.

There have been 2.745 positive cases statewide.

There have been 107,509 tests administered overall, with 76,856 done on unique individuals.

There are currently 30 people hospitalized with COVID-19. There have been 180 total hospitalizations.

2,242 people have recovered from COVID-19. This leaves 432 active confirmed cases in the state.
