Active COVID-19 cases nearing 11k; 1,160 new infections, five deaths

The state health department has confirmed five more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 644.

 

The patients were:

 

  • Man in his 50s from Burleigh County.
  • Man in his 60s from McKenzie County.
  • Woman in her 60s from Mountrail County.
  • Man in his 80s from Stutsman County.
  • Man in his 80s from Walsh County.    

 
1,160 new individuals from 46 counties have also tested positive for COVID-19 in North Dakota, bringing the new statewide positive total to 55,458.

 

These results were from a pool of 7,455 tests for a daily positive rate of 16.73 percent.

947,371 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 310,998 unique individuals have been tested. 

 

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 254 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, and 383 individuals are hospitalized with the virus. There have been 1,906 hospitalizations total.

 

Since yesterday 690 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 43,949. This leaves 10,865 active confirmed cases.
