Active COVID-19 cases pass 6,500; 851 new cases and eight more dead

The state health department has confirmed eight additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 456.

 

The patients were:

 

  • Woman in her 90s from Burleigh County.
  • Man in his 60s from Mountrail County.
  • Woman in her 60s from Towner County.
  • Man in his 60s from Towner County.
  • Woman in her 80s from Towner County.
  • Woman in her 90s from Ward County.
  • Man in his 80s from Ward County.
  • Man in his 80s from Williams County.

 
851 new individuals from 49 counties have also tested positive for COVID-19 in North Dakota, bringing the new statewide positive total to 37,719.

 

These results were from a pool of 8,850 tests for a daily positive rate of 10.15 percent.

815,909 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 283,394 unique individuals have been tested. 

 

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 164 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, and 272 individuals are hospitalized with the virus. There have been 1,417 hospitalizations total.

 

Since yesterday 534 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 30,757. This leaves 6,506 active confirmed cases.
