State health department confirms 23 deaths, 1,408 new COVID-19 cases

The state health department has confirmed 23 more deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 818.

The patients were:

* Man in his 70s from Barnes County.
* Man in his 70s from Barnes County.
* Man in his 60s from Barnes County.
* Man in his 90s from Cass County.
* Man in his 50s from Cass County.
* Man in his 80s from Grand Forks County.
* Man in his 70s from Grand Forks County.
* Man in his 80s from Grand Forks County.
* Man in his 80s from Grand Forks County.
* Woman in her 90s from Hettinger County.
* Man in his 80s from McLean County.
* Woman in her 80s from Ramsey County.
* Woman in her 100s from Ramsey County.
* Man in his 100s from Richland County.
* Man in his 80s from Stark County.
* Woman in her 90s from Stutsman County.
* Woman in her 80s from Stutsman County.
* Man in his 60s from Stutsman County.
* Woman in her 100s from Ward County.
* Woman in her 90s from Ward County.
* Woman in her 50s from Ward County.
* Man in his 80s from Ward County.
* Man in his 70s from Ward County.

1,408 new individuals from 51 counties have also tested positive for COVID-19 in North Dakota, bringing the new statewide positive total to 70,016.

These results were from a pool of 10,185 tests for a daily positive rate of 14.99 percent.

1,054,136 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 333,327 unique individuals have been tested.

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 289 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, and 395 individuals are hospitalized with the virus. There have been 2,390 hospitalizations total.

Since yesterday 1,253 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 59,283. This leaves 9,915 active confirmed cases.
