Virus surge continues; 1,038 new infections, nine more dead

The state health department has confirmed nine additional deaths related to COVID-19, bringing the statewide death toll to 431.

 

The patients were:

 

  • Man in his 60s from Cass County with underlying health conditions.
  • Woman in her 60s from Grand Forks County with underlying health conditions.
  • Man in his 70s from Grand Forks County with underlying health conditions.
  • Woman in her 70s from Grant County with underlying health conditions
  • Man in his 70s from LaMoure County with underlying health conditions.
  • Man in his 50s from LaMoure County with underlying health conditions.
  • Man in his 80s from Morton County with underlying health conditions.
  • Man in his 70s from Richland County with underlying health conditions.
  • Man in his 90s from Ward County with underlying health conditions.

 
1,038 new individuals from 48 counties have also tested positive for COVID-19 in North Dakota, bringing the new statewide positive total to 35,052.

 

These results were from a pool of 8,378 tests for a daily positive rate of 13.09 percent.

790,378 total tests have been administered for the novel coronavirus. 277,692 unique individuals have been tested. 

 

According to the state health department’s coronavirus dashboard, 156 people are currently hospitalized due to COVID-19, and 276 individuals are hospitalized with the virus. There have been 1,351 hospitalizations total.

 

Since yesterday 402 individuals have been confirmed as recovered, bringing the recovered total to 28,271. This leaves 6,350 active confirmed cases.
